Tortuga by Ellie, 3SB

This piece of writing is based on the book, Tortuga by Paul Geraghty.

When Tortuga got onto the beautiful shore, the sky was as pretty as her. The soft sand wiggled through her warm trees. As the amazing, glimmery sunset reflected onto her solid shell, she could hear birds squawking in the sky so she looked up and there were white, evil birds. Slowly they pinched on one of her eggs. "Oh no!"she gasped. She was absolutely  mortified, so she snuggled down to get some sleep.

As morning came she found herself on a bright colourful cliff. Tortuga said, "How did I get here?" It was a mystery that was before her. The rocks by her feet were sharp and pointy and grey. Beside her was the most incredible waterfall she had ever seen, so she went onto a rock and had the time of her life until...

The rock that she was standing on broke! CRACK! It went tumbling down the waterfall. Tortuga went down the cliff! "Will this cliff go down forever?" she said, frightened.  Her body was shaking with fright.  The wind brushed against her pretty shell.  "Am I going to die?" she asked herself.

Suddenly, she stopped.  Tortuga thought she had landed but she hadn't gone to the forest floor.  She was on a rough, brown branch but she was only an inch away from the sand so she quickly jumped to the ground.

As she reached the soft, yellow sand, her tummy started to tickle.  Tortuga looked into the distance.  She saw a baby tortoise.  She was relieved that her baby wasn't hurt.  She scuttled off into the sunset and they lived happily ever after.
