Sleeping Beauty and her Godmother by Poppy, 5EG

A long time ago, in a far-away kingdom, there lived a king called Sir King and a queen called Queen Away.  One day, the queen's baby was born and they called her Aurora.  She didn't have much hair but you could just about see her golden locks.  Aurora also had sky-blue eyes, rosy-red cheeks and also rosy-red lips.

Because Maleficent was so kind and generous to the baby, the King and Queen made her Aurora's fairy godmother.  To celebrate the baby's birthday, they threw a massive fancy-dress party with flashing disco lights, ballroom dancing music, brightly-coloured balloons and ruby-red roses.

After the party, Maleficent took Aurora to the Magical Moors and showed her all the fairies.  Last but not least, Maleficent showed her the Tree of Life where the three main fairies were waiting to grant some gifts to the child.

Flora, the red fairy, said softly and gently, "I wish for you to have beautiful, golden, wavy hair."
Then Forna, the green fairy, giggled whilst saying, "Sweet Aurora, I wish for you to be loved by every animal."

Then suddenly there was a deafening scream and a loud cackle.  Far away in the distance they saw a spooky shadow.  Scared, the fairies hid behind the king and queen and started squealing like little mice.  Soon enough, the shadow was no longer a shadow - it was an evil fairy called...Maleficent!

As quick as a flash, the king, queen, Aurora and the three fairies sprinted out of the moors up the hills to the castle grounds.  Suddenly, right in front of them was Maleficent.  She snatched the baby off the queen and standing granting her curse, "Before the sunsets on her 16th birthday, she shall fall down a well and break all her bones so she can't get out!"

Then she disappeared out of nowhere...
