Spooky Story by Lily, 5JB

One thundery night, Jake, who was very courageous, crept slowly through the damp, mysterious woods. Meanwhile, he found an abandoned cottage which had brown leaves and broken branches falling into the chimney. Pointy, sharp thorns were surrounding the old cottage. Tip-toeing towards the house, he faltered when he heard a loud noise. He panicked. Soon he got to the cottage and opened the creaky, black door. ''Hello is anybody there?" said Jake frightened.

Without closing the door, he headed towards the main living room and looked around. In the corner of his eye, there was a shimmering, shiny piece of gold on a dusty, dirty book on a mantelpiece.  "There's a warning on it: Strange things will happen to you in the house. Open if you dare! I don't think that's true! What's on the back? This will happen if you open it alone," murmured Jake.  Jake looked around and heard absolute silence.   He could only hear the broken branches breaking from outside.  Seconds later, he opened the book.  "This is just an old book! Nothing is going to happen!" shouted Jake.

Suddenly the creaky, un-oiled doors slammed as fast as a speedy panther.  He crept towards the wooden door and opened it tentatively.  "I need to get out of here," muttered Jake loudly.  He heard a noise . You cant get out! Jake was frightened . There was a revolting smell coming from from the kitchen and the mysterious voice came again. You are haunted Jake! " How did you know my name replied Jake. Jake saw the shinning, golden, shimmering book glowing. He walked towards the book and close it. Soon, he found a hammer next to a box. Jake grabbed the hammer. The stomping was still very loud but, he managed to smash the window open as fast as light. He jumped out and he was free! " I'm never going there again!" screamed Jake.
