Fashion Through The Years by Libby, 5JB

In this report, I am focusing on how fashion has charged over three decades 1900s, 1900s and 1940s. I will be explaining the similarities and differences between the decades - there will also be conclusion.

Firstly, I would like to discuss the differences over the years. The first difference I would like to tell you about is the outfits and how they have changed over the years. In the 1900s they wore s-bend corset style tops with a pair of trousers. In the 1920s they wore barrel shaped outfits. And last but not least, in the 1900s they wore knee - high skirts, with boxy jackets.

Furthermore, another difference is the materials that the outfits were made out of. In the 1900s, the clothes they had were mostly made out of different types of fabric. In the 1920s, the clothes were made of curtains with patterns on from the windows. The reason for clothes being made from curtains from the window was because in the 1940s there was a war and this affected the money they had and also what materials they could buy.  Finally, the clothes in the 1940s were mostly made from cotton and fluffy fabrics.

On the other hand, exactly the same things have remained the same about fashion over the years.  One such similarity is the hats they wore.  All throughout the 1900s and the 1920s, they wore hats.  I think the reasons they were hats in those times were because they may have had to cover their heads back then and also they might have wanted to cover their heads from the sun in hot countries as well.

Additionally, fashion has also remained the same because we have always worn clothes that are made out of fabrics, cotton and fur, sometimes even wool.  Jackets were often worn.  I think this is because people liked to keep warm and also keep their shoulders covered.

In conclusion, I believe that there are many similarities and differences.  The most important of these are the differences because everyone has to be different and everyone has to wear different things.  It is also great to be different because no-one wants to be the same otherwise the world would be boring.
